1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a telephone conversation with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand Don Pramudwinai on the afternoon of March 5. In the telephone conversation, Minister Kang explained in detail the government of the Republic of Korea’s quarantine efforts against COVID-19, and discussed ways for bilateral and regional cooperation to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.

2. Minister Kang explained that the ROK government is making all-out efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19 on the basis of its robust diagnostic capability and epidemiological investigation, and noted that the Thai government is taking measures based on confidence in the ROK government’s quarantine capabilities.

3. Minister Don said with confidence that the ROK government will successfully bring the COVID-19 outbreak under control soon based on its quarantine capabilities. He also asked for the ROK government’s interest in protecting Thai nationals in the ROK, saying that a number of Thai nationals are staying in the ROK.

4. The two Ministers shared the view that cooperation among countries in the region is crucial to eradicate COVID-19, and agreed to continue to work together to facilitate regional cooperation on public health issues.
