1. Right after the Republic of Korea-United States-Japan foreign ministerial meeting held on the morning of February 15 on the occasion of the Munich Security Conference, Minister of Foreign Affairs Kang, Kyung-wha had a pull-aside meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.
o In the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue efforts to strengthen the ROK-U.S. alliance, the linchpin of the Asia-Pacific region, and to smoothly resolve current issues related to the alliance, including the Special Measures Agreement negotiations.

Minister Kang and Secretary Pompeo appreciated the robust high-level exchanges
underway between the two countries following the meeting in San Francisco in
January, and agreed to maintain close communication at each level.
