1. The 2nd Republic of Korea (ROK)-United Kingdom (UK) Cyber Dialogue was held in Seoul on Wednesday, January 29.
o Mr. Bae Jong-in, Ambassador for International Security Affairs of ROK Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Mr. Alexander Evans, Director Cyber of the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office led the dialogue with participation from officials of cybersecurity-related agencies of the two countries.
2. At the dialogue, both sides discussed issues such as cyber threat assessments, ways to advance cooperation for cybersecurity, cyber norms at international fora, and capacity building programs.
o In particular, both sides agreed to work more closely on emergent responses to cyber incidents and cybercrime investigation.
3. This Cyber Dialogue has been established as a useful venue for strengthening cooperation and collaboration between ROK and the UK in order to address the increasing challenge of cyber threats by sharing information, experience and expertise.
