1. At the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a 6-member delegation of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), composed mainly of mid-level officials from foreign affairs offices of Chinese provincial governments, will visit the Republic of Korea (ROK) on November 18-22, 2019, for an ROK-PRC future-oriented exchange project.
2. The ROK-PRC future-oriented exchange project has been held since 1999 to boost exchanges between provincial governments of the two countries. During its visit to the ROK, the Chinese delegation will pay a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister for Political Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and attend a dinner to be hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Seoul. It will also pay a courtesy call on the Mayor of Daegu Metropolitan City, have a meeting with the Administrative Vice-Governor of Chungcheongbuk-do, and visit the Governors Association of Korea to explore ways for the two countries’ provincial governments to work together.
3. In line with the recent recovery of the ROK-PRC relations, the forthcoming visit to the ROK by the Chinese delegation is expected to help enhance the ROK-PRC relations and promote exchanges between provincial governments of the two countries.
