1. The Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will host the “IFANS Debate! 2017” at the KNDA at 14:00-15:40, September 7.

2. The “IFANS Debate!” will feature a presentation by Jia Qingguo, Dean of the School of International Studies of Peking University and member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, in which he will put forward his views regarding the security situation surrounding the Korean Peninsula and the US-China relations.

- For the ensuing panel debate, KNDA Chancellor Cho Byung-jae; Kim Sung-han, Dean of the Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University; and Chung Jae-ho, a professor of Political Science and International Relations and Director of the Program on US–China Relations at Seoul National University,will discuss the direction the Republic of Korea’s diplomacy should be implemented in amid the rapidly changing security environment.

3. The “IFANS Debate!,” an open debate event organized by the KNDA’s IFANS, is held in the form of roundtable meeting with local and foreign experts for candid discussions on major international issues. As such, it is expected to help the ROK people learn more about various diplomatic issues.
