1. The Foreign Ministry, after active diplomatic consultations with relevant countries in a bid to bring to the Republic of Korea the two (Vietnamese) suspects in the killing on June 20 of an ROK national on board the ship Kwang Hyun 803 in the midst of fishing operations in the Indian Ocean, has won cooperation from the Indian government for the transport of the suspects to the ROK via a Mumbai airport as well as boarding permits from relevant airlines.

2. The Foreign Ministry is working closely with the Korea Coast Guard under the Ministry of Public Safety and Security on the transport of the suspects. With respect to the repatriation of the body of the victim and others necessary for the case to undergo judicial procedures in the ROK, the Foreign Ministry will continue consultations with the government of the Seychelles through diplomatic channels.
