1. The Institute of Foreign Affairs and National Security (IFANS) at the Korea National Diplomatic Academy (KNDA) will host IFANS Talks on July 1 in a bid to help the people of the Republic of Korea better understand diplomatic issues. The IFANS Talks, whose forthcoming round will mark the 12th since the first held in May 2013, are held in the form of “Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED)” talks. Each round brings together about 300 future global leaders -- high school and college students, other members of the general public and diplomats -- who are interested in international issues and public diplomacy, as well as in seeking jobs at international organizations.

2. IFANS President Shin Dong-will moderate the two-hour IFANS Talks at the KNDA on July 1, where UK Ambassador Charles Hay, French Ambassador Fabien Penone, and EU Ambassador Gerhard Sabathil to the ROK will deliver lectures on the “UK-EU-Korea relationship post EU referendum; the 130th anniversary of diplomatic relations between France and Korea; and the EU economic relations with South Korea and the EU’s approach towards North Korea,” respectively. Each lecture will be followed by a question-and-answer session.

3. The content of the lectures at the upcoming IFANS Talks will be uploaded on the KNDA IFANS website at www.ifans.go.kr and at its YouTube channel at www.youtube.com/kndalive. They will also be available for viewing on the KNDA IFANS’ official Facebook and Twitter pages.
