1. With the year 2016 marking the 20th anniversary of the Republic of Korea’s accession to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), the Foreign Ministry, together with Maekyung Media Group, has held the “OECD English essay contest 2016” with the aim to raise awareness on global issues discussed at the OECD and draw Korean youth’s attention to extending their presence at the OECD Secretariat and other international organizations.

2. A total of 53 people submitted their entries from March 31 till April 17, out of which two were awarded grand prizes and two others first place prizes.
