1. A delegation of 100 young leaders of the Republic of Korea will visit Beijing and Qingdao, China, from August 17 to 21 at the invitation of the Chinese government.

o This visit by the delegation of young leaders comes after President Park and her Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping agreed during the Chinese President’s state visit to the ROK in July 2014 that the two countries will hold the ROK-China Young Leaders Forum and invite 100 young leaders of the ROK and China every year for the next five years.

2. The delegation, to be led by President of the Korea Foundation Yu Hyun-seok, will consist of 100 people from various sectors of society, including the political arena, economic circles, the media, academia, and arts and culture.

3. During their visit to China, the delegation of the ROK young leaders will meet with high-level officials from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Communist Youth League, Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress, and Qingdao Municipal Government, as well as hold a meeting with representatives of the Chinese young leaders. The delegation will also visit the Zhongguancun Innovation Street, and the headquarters of the China Youth Daily and Qingdao Haier.

4. This visit is expected to serve as a valuable opportunity for the future leaders of the ROK and China to strengthen communications and share their visions for cooperation between the two countries and the way forward for bilateral relations.

5. Following the ROK delegation’s visit to China, a delegation of 100 Chinese young leaders will also visit the ROK in November this year, on which occasion the ROK-China Young Leaders Forum will be held in the ROK.
