1. Daniel Russel, US Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, will visit the Republic of Korea on March 16 and 17. During his visit, the Assistant Secretary will meet with the Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Lee Kyung-soo and make a courtesy call on First Vice Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yong.

2. The main purpose of Assistant Secretary Russel’s visit is to reaffirm the solid alliance between the ROK and the US. The visit is also expected to serve as an opportunity to discuss various ways to further advance bilateral relations.
