1. In an effort to boost bilateral humanities exchanges as agreed upon between the Republic of Korea and China during President Park Geun-hye’s state visit to China in June 2013, the Foreign Ministries of the two countries agreed during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s state visit to the ROK to implement 19 bilateral projects in 2014. The 19 projects include forums on policies for humanities exchanges; special exchanges between youths of the two countries; scholarship programs; classes for first-hand experiences of each other’s traditional arts; and humanities exchanges between cities of the two countries.

2. The ROK and China launched in November 2013 a Joint Committee on Humanities Exchanges led by their Vice Foreign Ministers. They also agreed to jointly seek out and conduct projects in such fields as academics; local governments; youth; and traditional arts on an annual basis starting in 2014.

3. The ROK and China will continue to seek out various humanities exchange projects every year and thereby deepen mutual understanding as well as psychological and emotional bond between the peoples of the two countries.
