1. Foreign Minister Kim Sung-Hwan will visit New York on September 23-28 to attend the 67th Session of the UN General Assembly.

2. Minister Kim will deliver a keynote speech at the UN General Assembly on September 28; attend meetings, including the High-level Meeting on the Rule of Law on September 24 and the High-level Meeting on Somalia on September 26; and preside over the High-level Meeting on Nuclear Terrorism on September 28.

3. On the sidelines of the aforementioned meetings, Minister Kim will meet bilaterally with his counterparts from 30-odd countries to discuss bilateral issues and solicit their support for the bid of the Republic of Korea to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the 2013-2014 term.

4. On September 25, Minister Kim will take part in the 1st  Meeting of the High-level Panel on Post-2015 Development Agenda (Post-2015 HLP).

* Foreign Minister Kim was appointed as one of the 27 members of the High-level Panel assembled by the UN Secretary-General on July 31. The Panel is part of the Secretary-General’s initiative to develop the global development agenda beyond 2015, the target date for the Millennium Development Goals.
