1. Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Choi Sung-hong and Ambassador of Belarus to Korea Aleksandr V. 
Semeshko will sign the Convention between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Belarus for the 
Avoidance of Double Taxation and the Prevention of Fiscal Evasion with Respect to Taxes on Income on May 
20, 2002.

 
2. By preventing double taxation on income and capital in mutual investment, this agreement is expected to 
contribute to the vitalization of economic exchanges between the two countries by promoting active transfer 
of human, capital and technology transfers.  Furthermore, the agreement will also facilitate early settlement 
of possible disputes on taxation by providing effective procedures to resolve such issues.

 
3. The Republic of Korea has concluded agreements for avoidance of double taxation with 60 countries.
