1. Special Representative for Korean Peninsula Peace and Security, Chun Young-woo, is scheduled to visit
Washington DC from August 30 to 31, for consultations with Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and
Pacific Affairs, Christopher Hill, who is the U.S. chief delegate to the Six-Party Talks.

2. Close consultations are underway between the chief delegates of the ROK and the United States to the
Six-Party Talks.  Following the last consultations between the chief delegates to the Six-Party Talks on the
sidelines of ARF in late July, the upcoming consultations are expected to provide an opportunity to exchange
views on the current status regarding the North Korean nuclear issue and have a wide-range of discussions
on cooperative measures between the two countries.
