1. Acting Ambassador of Serbia and Montenegro, Vladan Soskic, was appointed on March 19, 2004, for
the reopening of the Embassy of Serbia and Montenegro to the Republic of Korea.
※ Serbia and Montenegro is the former Federal Republic of Yugoslavia: the former Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia had its embassy in the ROK from February 1990 to March 1999.
※ With the reopening of the Serbia and Montenegro embassy, the total number of foreign embassies in
the ROK will become 88.
2. The ROK government reopened its embassy in Serbia and Montenegro in March 2002, and the Serbia
and Montenegro government has also been actively pursuing the reopening of its embassy in the ROK in
consideration of its relations with the ROK.
3. The reopening of the Serbia and Montenegro embassy in the ROK is expected to contribute not only to
the promotion of friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries but also to the enhancement
of the ROK's relations with the western Balkans region.
