1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin had a meeting with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian on Friday, September 22, local time, on the occasion of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

2. The two Foreign Ministers noted the recent successful transfer of Iranian frozen funds in Korea to a third country and expressed their commitment to work together for the future development of bilateral relations based on the positive momentum created through the resolution of the frozen fund issue.

3. Foreign Minister Park expressed his gratitude for Iran's hospitality toward the Korean Ambassador for Climate Change who participated in the recent "International Conference on Combating Sand and Dust Storms" jointly organized by the United Nations and Iran (September 9-10). He suggested exploring ways of bilateral cooperation in the environmental sector based on the outcome of this event, and also seeking possible cooperation in fields such as culture, academia and sports. Foreign Minister Amir-Abdollahian concurred on these proposals.

4. Both Foreign Ministers shared a necessity of continuing high-level communication to further enhance relations between Korea and Iran.
