The two sides exchanged views on Korea-Fiji relations, economic cooperation, development cooperation and cooperation on the international stage including on climate change.

Vice Minister Kim noted that Fiji is central to Korea's diplomacy with Pacific island countries, highlighting that the two nations have developed friendly cooperative relations for over half a century since establishing diplomatic ties in 1971. Vice Minister Kim proposed expanding cooperation in various fields such as climate change, fisheries and maritime affairs, and development cooperation. She specifically suggested continuing close collaboration in marine energy and aquaculture through the Korea-Fiji Marine and Fisheries Cooperation Center established last year.

Assistant Minister Qereqeretabua congratulated Korea on the success of this year’s Korea-Pacific Islands Foreign Ministers' Meeting and expressed gratitude for Korea's contributions to the development of Fiji and the Pacific region. She also voiced hope that Korea and Fiji would advance cooperation for the latter's economic and social development including by sharing the former’s experience in economic growth and leveraging its unique strengths.
