Leaders of Republic of Korea and Nepal Exchange Congratulatory Letters to Mark 50th Anniversary of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations




President Yoon Suk Yeol and Prime Minister of Nepal Pushpa Kamal Dahal exchanged congratulatory letters on May 15, 2024, the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Korea and Nepal.



※ The Republic of Korea and Nepal forged diplomatic relations on May 15, 1974.



In his letter, President Yoon extended his heartfelt congratulations and friendly greetings to the Prime Minister and the people of Nepal on behalf of the government and the people of the Republic of Korea in celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.



President Yoon also noted that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1974, the Republic of Korea and Nepal have developed close, friendly and cooperative relations in various sectors, including trade, investment, infrastructure, and development cooperation. He also expressed his commitment to continue to work together to further expand the scope of bilateral cooperation, taking note of the significant potential for cooperation in other areas, including employment, people-to-people exchanges and agriculture.



In his letter, Prime Minister Dahal congratulated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the ROK-Nepal diplomatic ties on behalf of the government and the people of Nepal. He appreciated the remarkable achievements made between the two countries in diverse areas based on their friendship, cordiality, cooperation, mutual respect and goodwill, and expressed his hope for further deepened mutually beneficial cooperation.
