1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin spoke over the phone with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu on the afternoon of February 8 (Korea Standard Time), and extended his deepest consolation and condolences over the strong earthquake that struck Türkiye on February 6.

2. Foreign Minister Park said that the Korean government will provide all possible support, including dispatching an emergency rescue team, for Türkiye’s speedy recovery from damage, and that the Korean people also stand with Türkiye with whole heart.

o Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu expressed appreciation to the government of Korea, Türkiye’s “brother country,” for offering consolation to the people of Türkiye and actively assisting the country’s recovery efforts. He also appreciated the consolation and support from the Korean people.

3. Foreign Minister Park asked for Türkiye’s attention to the safety of Koreans living near the affected regions, and Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu said that his government will continue to provide assistance, paying utmost attention.
