1. Minister of Foreign Affairs Park Jin talked over the phone with Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Korea Salih Murat Tamer on the morning of February 7 to extend his deepest consolation over the strong earthquake that struck Türkiye on February 6 and to relay the Korean government’s will to render active assistance to the country for its speedy recovery from damage. 

2. Ambassador Tamer expressed appreciation to the government of Korea, Türkiye’s “brother country,” for its willingness to assist Türkiye swiftly, including humanitarian aid provision and dispatch of a rescue team.

3. Foreign Minister Park asked for the attention of the government of Türkiye to secure the safety of the Korean nationals residing in the affected area. The two sides agreed to maintain close communication on what is necessary for the recovery from the damage of the earthquake.
