1. The government of the Republic of Korea is providing a total of US$300,000 in immediate humanitarian aid to the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam hit by heavy rains that have continued since October 6.

o The heavy rains have left over 100 people dead and about 90,000 evacuated, and flooded more than 130,000 houses.

2. The ROK government hopes that its assistance would contribute to bringing stability to the lives of the people affected by heavy rains as soon as possible.

3. The ROK government will continue to participate actively in the international community’s efforts to support countries and people suffering from natural disasters as well as various humanitarian crises.
