1. “The 2nd ROK-US-Japan Women’s Empowerment Trilateral Conference: Summit on Women’s Leadership in STEM” will be held in a virtual format on October 20-23 (Korea Standard Time).

o The heads of the government delegations will be Deputy Minister for Economic Affairs Lee Seong-ho (ROK), Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues Kelley Currie (US), and Ambassador in charge of Women’s Issues Atsuko Nishimura (Japan), respectively.

2. In the upcoming meeting to be held under the theme of expanding women’s participation in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) fields, the three countries will share each country’s experiences and best practices, and discuss ways to increase trilateral cooperation in the STEM areas with the private sector including academics and women entrepreneurs in the related fields.

3. The meeting is expected to serve as an opportunity to further enhance trilateral partnership in STEM by providing an opportunity for the three countries to explore ways to expand cooperation for women’s empowerment in the areas.
