1. The government of the Republic of Korea welcomes that the government of the United States of America (U.S.) and the Taliban signed the “Agreement for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan between the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan which is not recognized by the United States as a state and is known as the Taliban and the United States of America” in Doha, the State of Qatar, on February 29, and that the governments of the U.S. and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan announced the “Joint Declaration for Bringing Peace to Afghanistan” in Kabul, Afghanistan, on the same day.
 

2. The government of the Republic of Korea hopes that the Afghan government and the Taliban will sincerely engage in intra-Afghan negotiations, which are scheduled to begin on March 10, and thereby pave the way for building peace and prosperity in Afghanistan and the region
