The 7th ROK-EU Policy Consultation on Development Cooperation

1. The 7th Policy Consultation on Development Cooperation between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the European Union (EU) was held in Seoul on April 26, 2019. The Korean and EU delegations were led by Ms. Hyunjoo Oh, Director-General for Development Cooperation, and Mr. Felix Fernandez-Shaw, Director for International Cooperation and Development Policy, respectively.

2. The two sides exchanged views on a variety of agenda items such as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the EU Emergency Trust Fund for Africa, and gender equality.

3. The ROK and the EU, complementary partners that focus on Asia and the Pacific and Africa, respectively, agreed to increase bilateral cooperation in those regions and explore the possibility of pursuing joint cooperation projects.
