1. The Korean government strongly protests against the Japanese government’s repeated inclusion of futile sovereignty claims over Dokdo, which is clearly an integral part of the Korean territory historically, geographically and under international law, in its Diplomatic Bluebook released on April 27. The Korean government sternly urges the Japanese government to immediately withdraw such claims. The Korean government makes it clear once again that it will respond firmly to any provocations over Dokdo by the Japanese government.

2. With regard to the Japanese government’s perception of the “comfort women” issue, which is of an unprecedented violation of human rights of women in armed conflict as well as a violation of universal human rights, the Korean government strongly urges the Japanese government to undertake sincere efforts to resolve this issue based on the spirit of responsibility, apology and remorse expressed by the Japanese government itself in the Kono Statement in 1993 and the Korea-Japan Agreement on the Issue of "Comfort Women" Victims in 2015.
