The Korean Culture Center in Spain hosted two concerts, one of which was a tango performance, the most popular music of Spain, while the other was that of Korean traditional music in combination with media art. The concerts were held for two days as part of the ‘One Month Festival’ organized by The House Concert. Most visitors attended both events, held on June5th and 6th, where various musicians currently active in Korea and Europe were introduced.

3. During the month of July, the two concerts were broadcast live through Facebook as part of ‘The One Month Festival’ project hosted by The House Concert. The project held approximately 400 concerts in 30 different countries, and the live broadcast was viewed by the online audience in Korea and abroad.

4. On June 5th, the tango was a beautifully synchronized performance between the violin and bandoneon. It was received with much enthusiasm by Korean and Spanish watchers of the live broadcasting session on Facebook.

5. The Korean traditional music concert, held on June 6th, presented a fusion music performance involving the flute, the gayageum, and the handpan, an instrument rarely seen in South Korea. Flutist Song Mi Gyeong, also a media artist based in Berlin, touched hearts with her performance of ‘Blue House.’

6. The Korean Cultural Center in Spain plans to present a wider range of Korean artists and Korean cultural assets to European citizens in the future through their ‘Mini Concerts’ and ‘One Summer Night’s Concerts.’ Such efforts will help support Korean artists and give the global audience a taste of Korea’s cultural diversity.
