Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Kenya

Ambassador Kang Hyung-shik attended the Kenya-AIST facility hand-over ceremony held at Konza Technopolis on the morning of April 11. He delivered a congratulatory speech, and exchanged opinions with Kenya’s ICT Cabinet Secretary, H.E. William G. Kabogo and Principal Secretary Eng. John Tanui on ways to operate and develop the Kenya-AIST efficiently.

The Kenya -IST is the first institution to be constructed overseas modeled after Korea’s KAIST, and is expected to greatly contribute to the strengthening of Kenya’s scientific and technological capabilities and economic development in the future.

In addition, the Kenya AIST is expected to be an landmark cooperation project and symbol of friendship between Korea and Kenya, and is expected to serve as catalyst for the development of bilateral relations in the future.
