The government of the Republic of Korea strongly welcomes the announcement on April 16 of a 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon, and highly appreciates the efforts of U.S. President Trump to this end.

The Korean government urges all relevant parties to fully implement the ceasefire agreement and to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon. In addition, the government hopes that this ceasefire will build significant momentum not only for the negotiations between the United States and Iran, but also for the restoration of peace and stability in the Middle East, as well as the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
