1. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Paraguay Woo In Shik, together with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Paraguay Euclides Acevedo, signed the “Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Korea and the Government of the Republic of Paraguay for Air Services between and beyond their Respective Territories” in Asuncion on May 19, 2021 (at 11:00 a.m., local time).

° The two countries began to discuss a draft of the Agreement in 2011 at the proposal of Paraguay and agreed on a final text through an air service consultation. They signed the Agreement following the completion of domestic procedures required for the signing.

※ This Agreement shall enter into force on the date when both sides have notified each other that they have completed the internal legal procedures necessary for its entry into force.

※ The ROK has concluded Air Services Agreements with a total of 92 countries including Paraguay, and Agreements with 85 countries of them are in force as of May 2021.

2. This Air Services Agreement is expected to allow more flights for passengers and cargo and to lay the institutional foundation for national airlines to operate the routes between the ROK and the Latin American countries.
