1. First Lady Kim Yoon-ok had dinner with 14 spouses of leaders of countries and international organizations, visiting the Republic of Korea for the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit, at the National Museum of Korea on March 26.
* The participating spouses are from: Gabon, Nigeria, South Africa, Malaysia, Vietnam, Switzerland, Singapore, India, Indonesia, Italy, Turkey, the Philippines, the UN and the EU.
2. First Lady Kim hosted the dinner for spouses of head delegates to the Summit at the time when the delegates were having a working dinner at Coex.
3. Prior to the dinner, the First Lady and the spouses enjoyed the exhibition of art pieces by those who had taken part in the International Children's Peace Art Festival displayed in the lobby of the Museum.
4. Right before the dinner, First Lady Kim delivered a greeting speech to welcome the spouses to the ROK and wish, together with the guests, for the success of the 2012 Seoul Nuclear Security Summit based on close cooperation among the participating countries.
° Lee Bae-yong, Chair of the Presidential Council on Nation Branding, and Yang Il-Sun, Chair of the Korean Food Foundation, were also invited to explain the efforts of the ROK to enhance its national image and globalize its cuisine, helping raise the understanding of the guests on these matters.
5. The dinner was followed by piano and violin performances by younger prodigies in the classical music circle of the country.
6. The dinner consisted of Western-style cuisine in consideration of those who had just arrived earlier in the day and of the fact that they would be served a Korean-style luncheon at Sangchunjae the next day.
7. The National Museum of Korea was chosen as the first venue to welcome the guests in light of the fact that the Museum, a modern and sophisticated building housing cultural and historical artifacts of the ROK, exudes an aura of traditionalism and modernism blended together.
° After the dinner, at the request of the participating countries, some of the participants toured the permanent exhibition halls to get a glimpse into the long history of the ROK through its precious cultural artifacts.
