1. Ambassador to the United States Lee Tae-sik and U.S. Department of Homeland Security Deputy
Secretary for Management Paul A. Schneider signed the ‘Agreement Between the Government of the
Republic of Korea and the Government of the United States of America on Enhancing Cooperation to Prevent
and Combat Crime’ on November 7 at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security in Washington DC.
2. This agreement will enable authorities of both countries to share information on travelers, suspected of
criminal activities, therefore effectively blocking criminals and terrorists from entering Korea or the U.S.
3. The Korean government will request the National Assembly to ratify the agreement at the earliest date
possible.
