1.      The 1st Meeting of the 2005 Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit Venue Selection 
Committee is to be held on Thursday, November 27th, at the 17th floor Conference Room of the Ministry of 
Foreign Affairs and Trade, under the Chairmanship of Committee Chairman Hong-koo Lee (former Prime 
Minister of Korea). Participants will adopt evaluation criteria for the selection of venue for the 2005 APEC 
Leaders' Meeting and discuss future initiatives relating to the venue selection process.

2.      The 2005 APEC Summit Venue Selection Committee is an organization established within the 
Preparatory Office for the 2005 APEC summit with the purpose of enhancing impartiality and objectivity in the 
selection process for APEC venues in accordance with relevant provisions. The committee consists of 13 
well-respected civilian specialists from various fields as well as 6 government officials.

3.      The Committee is expected to contribute to the successful hosting of the 2005 APEC Leaders' Meeting 
by selecting the optimal venue for the meeting on the basis of objective and fair criteria and procedures.
