The 3rd Warsaw Korean Movie Festival 2017 held in Poland (Nov 7~ Nov 13)
The Korean Cultural Center in Poland held the 3rd Warsaw Korean Movie Festival at the ‘Kino Kultura’ theater, a historical cinema located in the old town area of Warsaw, Poland. The event was a great success, with around 1,600 visitors including government officials, key personnel from the arts industry, and members of the general public enjoying the festival.
* Director Kim Hee-jeong, a graduate of the LODZ Film School of Poland, and cinematographer Park Jeong-hoon, internationally recognized for his recent work in The Villaness, took part in the festival and participated in GV events.
12 Korean movies were screened throughout the Festival. They included representative movies, movies recommended by Polish critics, and movies directed by director Kim Hee-jeong, which all received keen interest from the local audience and the press. Events such as an opening ceremony, gala night, talks with Korean directors, and a seminar on Korean movies took place as well.
Although the festival’s screening policy was changed to a paid admission system for the first time this year, many movies showed high ticket sales rates, proving the popularity of the festival.
