Attending the inauguration ceremony of the 22nd Peaceful Unification Advisory Council

On Friday, December 5, Consul General Jongho Kyun attended the inauguration ceremony of the 22nd Peaceful Unification Advisory Council(PUAC) held at the Pan Pacific Hotel.


In his congratulatory remarks, Consul General Kyun expressed his hope that the Vancouver Chapter of the National Unification Advisory Council will continue to serve as a bridge for public diplomacy on Korean unification between Korea and Canada, represent the 110,000 Korean residents in Western Canada, contribute to forming a unified cooperation network, and play a central role in the development of the Korean-Canadian community.


At the ceremony, approximately 100 key figures from government and the Korean-Canadian community including Chair Tae-yong Shin and the advisors of the 22nd Vancouver Chapter, leaders of Korean organizations, the Americas Regional Director of the National Unification Advisory Council Secretariat, Senator Yonah Martin, and MLA Paul Choi in attendance. Through the presentation of appointment certificates to the newly appointed advisors, the advisors’ oath ceremony, a briefing on the 22nd term’s operational direction, and a lecture on peaceful reunification, participants shared the vision and plans of the 22nd term of the National Unification Advisory Council and strengthened their mutual ties.
