On April 21(Fri), Consul General Jongho Kyun attended the completion ceremony of the Korean War Memorial Garden at the Derek Doubleday Arboretum in Langley.
In 2019, for the first time in Canada, the Kapyong Memorial Stone was installed in Langley to commemorate the Battle of Kapyong. The stone is now surrounded by a garden with a pond.
In his congratulatory speech, Consul General Jongho Kyun said that it is meaningful that the Korean War Memorial Garden was completed during the 60th anniversary of Korea-Canada diplomatic relations. He also said that he hopes the garden serves as a monument symbolizing not only the sacrifice of the Korean War veterans, but also the friendship and cooperation that Korea and Canada share together.
