



On May 25, Ambassador Lim Ki-mo welcomed the arrival of the KSS-III submarine at the Royal Canadian Navy Base in Esquimalt and hosted a reception with the Canadian Navy, the Government of British Columbia, the Korean Navy, think tanks and business leaders from both countries.
Ambassador Lim highlighted the growing Korea-Canada Indo-Pacific partnership and implementation of the Security & Defence Partnership (SDCP) agreed by two eaders last October at APEC. He said that the arrival of the submarine and the Korea-Canada joint naval exercise mark an important milestone in advancing the partnership.
Commander of the Maritime Forces Pacific Rear Admiral David Patchell, Minister of Jobs and Economic Growth of the Government of British Columbia the Honourable Ravi Kahlon, and Parliamentary Secretary for Trade Mr. Paul Choi highlighted the strengthening ties between Korea and Canada, rooted in the historic partnership dating back to the Korean War.
