On Thursday, April 16, Ambassador Lim Ki-mo presented his credentials to Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, at Rideau Hall in Ottawa. Ambassador Lim formally begins his official duties as Ambassador ten days after his arrival in Ottawa on April 6.
During their meeting, Ambassador Lim emphasized the importance of middle powers working together in today's international order, as underscored by Prime Minister Carney. He said he is committed to keeping Korea and Canada close partners across all sectors, and noted the important role of the 260,000 Korean Canadians in communities across the country.
Governor General Simon welcomed Ambassador Lim to Canada, and looked forward to further strengthening Korea-Canada friendship.
