The Embassy of the Republic of Korea hosted the 10th Korean Peninsula Symposium on Wednesday, December 3, at the Embassy, in cooperation with Global Affairs Canada, the Embassy of the United States, and the Embassy of Japan.
This year’s symposium featured congratulatory remarks delivered by Chargé d’Affaires Ahn Young-gi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs David Morrison, Chargé d’Affaires Marybeth Turner of the U.S. Embassy, and Ambassador Kanji Yamanouchi of Japan, representing the four participating governments.
The event brought together over 80 key figures from government and the academic community, including officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Korea, the U.S. Department of State, Global Affairs Canada, the Canadian Global Affairs Institute (CGAI), the Asia Pacific Foundation of Canada, the U.S. Stimson Center, and the RAND Corporation.
Participants discussed ways to reduce tensions and build peace on the Korean Peninsula and the implications of Korean Peninsula issues for security in the Indo-Pacific region.
