   President Lee Jae-myung attended the 2025 G7 Summit(June 16-17, Kananaskis) at the invitation of Canada, the G7 presidency for this year. On June 17, he participated in the G7 Outreach Session, where he discussed major global issues including energy and artificial intelligence. In addition, President Lee held bilateral summit meetings with the leaders of 10 countries and international organizations.

   In his first summit with Mark Carney, the Prime Minister of Canada, President Lee agreed that the two countries would further strengthen cooperation across a wide range of areas-including trade, investment, defense, energy security, climate change and artificial intelligence, based on their Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. They also agreed to work closely together as the respective chairs of APEC and the G7 this year to maximize synergies between the two multilateral forums.

   Meanwhile, First Lady Kim Hye-Kyung accompanied President Lee’s visit to Canada for the G7 Summit, and met with around 20 representatives of major Korean diaspora organizations and next-generation Korean-Canadians at the Calgary Korean Community Center on June 17. During the meeting, she expressed her sincere appreciation for their continued dedication and contributions.
