It is a great honor for me to represent my country in Kuwait and make my humble contribution in promoting the bilateral relations between the Republic of Korea and the State of Kuwait. I look forward to working closely with Kuwaiti officials and friends and members of our community here to further strengthen the already existing excellent relationship between our two countries.

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1979, the two countries succeeded in enjoying excellent friendly relations that are developing well and smoothly in various fields.

Both countries celebrated the 40th anniversary of this relationship in 2019 with a high-level visit to Kuwait by Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-Yeon who took part in the inauguration ceremony of the Sheikh Jaber Causeway which was constructed by Korean companies. Over many years, the Korean companies contributed greatly to the national development of Kuwait by executing many mega infrastructure projects.

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, both sides were keen on the exchange of information and coordination to help address the various COVID-19-related challenges and many online video conferences involving health experts from countries were organized in this respect.

The Korean Embassy in Kuwait is committed to developing bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries, and promoting culture and people-to-people exchanges, and pushing Korea-Kuwait friendly and cooperative ties to a new level.
