Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of Yemen

On 29 June in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Ambassador DO Bong-kae met with H.E. Aidarous Al-Zubaidi, Vice President of the Presidential Leadership Council and President of the Southern Transitional Council (STC), Yemen. They discussed the political and economic cooperation as well as humanitarian issues between the Republic of Korea and the Republic of Yemen, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries this year.

H.E. Al-Zubaidi expressed deep appreciation for Korea’s humanitarian assistance to Yemen, including the Korean government funded UNDP program of ‘Inclusive Gender Justice through Women’s Empowerment and Protection’ during 2023-26. He noted the importance of the development cooperation between the two countries amidst the severe economic conditions in Yemen.

The UNDP has been implementing the training program for women leaders in the field of rule of law in Aden and Mukalla.
