Ambassador Lee Sang-hwa attended the commissioning ceremony of the BRP Miguel Malvar, a Philippine frigate built by South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, on Tuesday, May 20. 

This commissioning was the main event and highlight of the 127th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Navy. President Marcos, Defense Secretary Teodoro, Armed Forces Chief of Staff Browner, and Navy Flag Officer In Command Espelita were all in attendance, collectively celebrating the commissioning of the BRP Miguel Malvar as a key asset to the Philippine military, marking its official entry into service that day.
