2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (GKS-U)

The Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Republic of the Philippines is pleased to share the UPDATED guidelines for the 2026 Global Korea Scholarship for Undergraduate Degrees (GKS-U) Program. Interested applicants are advised to carefully review the information provided below: 

1. Number of Quota for the Program: One (1) for GKS (General); One (1) for R-GKS

2. Schedule of Application and Selection Process  

  • Application Period: October 6 (Mon) to October 17 (Fri) at 16:00

  • Deadline of Submission: October 17 (Fri) at 16:00 

  • Announcement of Selected Candidate for Interview: October 22 (Wed) 

  • Interview: October 24 (Fri) Time and mode of interview will be relayed accordingly. 

  • Announcement of Successful Candidate: October 27 (Mon) 

*Only shortlisted applicants will be notified. 

3. Place of Submission:  c/o GKS In-Charge, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, 122 Upper McKinley Road, McKinley Town Center, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City 1634

 4. Notice for Submission

  • Please be advised that, in the event of this transition to offline submission, all applicants (including those who previously submitted their applications online) will be required to physically RESUBMIT their application documents again. 

  • All documents must be A4 sized (210 x 297 millimeters or 8 ¼ x 11 ¾ inch) and arranged in the order specified on the Application Checklist included on the first page of the application forms. Each document must be numbered and labeled in the top right corner (ex: 9. Proof of Citizenship). 

  • oWhen filling out the “Choice of University and Department” section of (Form 1) Application Form, applicants must ensure their adherence to the following:

  • For GKS General: Applicants can choose up to THREE (3) different universities with at least ONE (1) Type B university. If applicants fill out a Type A university in a Type B section, their application may be excluded from evaluation. 

  • For Regional GKS (R-GKS): Applicants can choose up to TWO (2) different Type B universities only. 

  • The required number of documents for submission is as follows: 

  • oFor GKS General: ONE (1) set of original documents + THREE (3) sets of additional photocopies

  • oR-GKS: ONE (1) set of original documents + TWO (2) sets of additional photocopies 

  • Label the application with your name and "GKS-U Application.”

  • Applications will only be accepted via mail courier services (e.g., LBC, DHL, JRS). Submissions via email or fax will NOT be considered. Please DO NOT submit the application to the consular section.

  • oIf using a same-day courier service (e.g., Grab, Lalamove), please address the delivery to “KGSP In-charge” and use the contact number (02) 8856-9210. Riders are NOT allowed to call the recipient or enter the embassy. Instead, they should leave the documents with the embassy guards upon arrival.

  • oThe Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Manila is NOT liable for any loss of document that may occur during delivery.

  • Applicants who are expected to graduate by 31 December 2025 must first submit a certificate of expected graduation at the time of application. If such applicants pass the first round of selection, they must submit a graduation certificate (or a degree certificate) and a transcript by 31 December 2025. Failure to do so will result in the CANCELLATION of one’s acceptance.

  • o Applicants who submit their provisional graduation certificate will be considered as applicants who are expected to graduate.
