[Notice] Information on Denial of Entry to the Republic of Korea 

  Please be advised that there have been continuous cases recently where individuals who have been issued a valid visa to the Republic of Korea are denied entry during the immigration inspection process.

1. A visa does not guarantee entry. 

  A visa merely indicates that the preliminary requirements for entry have been met. The final decision on whether to permit entry is determined solely by the authority and judgment of the immigration officer at the airport of entry upon arrival in Korea.

2. The Embassy cannot intervene in the immigration process. 

  The Embassy cannot intervene with the on-site immigration inspection process in Korea. We are unable to request a reversal of the immigration officer's decision or exercise any influence over the procedure.

3. The Embassy is not informed of the reasons for entry denial. 

  If entry is denied, the on-site immigration officer directly explains the reason to the individual concerned. The Embassy is not notified of the specific reasons for the denial of entry for individual visitors and therefore cannot know the details.

4. It is recommended to prepare documents proving your purpose of visit. 

  Even with a valid visa, entry may be denied if the purpose of the visit is not clearly explained. Therefore, it is highly recommended to carry the following documents upon entry:

  * Documents proving the purpose of visit(Invitation letter, detailed itinerary, business contract, etc.)

  * Proof of accommodation in Korea and contact information of local related persons 

  * Return flight ticket and sufficient funds for your stay 

5. Contacting your country's Embassy in case of issues  

  If any problems arise during the entry process into Korea or if you require consular assistance, please contact the Embassy of your nationality for support.

  * Nigerian Nationals : Embassy of Nigeria in Seoul, Republic of Korea

  * Sierra Leonean Nationals : Embassy of Sierra Leone in Seoul, Republic of Korea

  * Liberian Nationals : Embassy of Liberia in Tokyo, Japan (Concurrently accredited to the Republic of Korea)
