2026 GKS Program for Undergraduate Degrees (Embassy Track)

In 2026, Korean Government’s Global Korea Scholarship program aims to invite international students who wish to purse undergraduate degrees in Korea.

[Selection Procedure]

Application Period: September 15, 2025 (Mon) 09:00 (KST 11:00) – September 30, 2025 (Tue) 16:00 (KST 18:00)

Application Method: Starting from the 2026 GKS-U, applications must be submitted online only via the Study in Korea website (www.studyinkorea.go.kr).

Applicants must first create an account on the system, complete the application form, and upload the required documents.

Cambodia Embassy Track: General Track (2 students), R-GKS Track (1 student) → Total: 3 students

※ Applicants may apply to only one track (General or R-GKS).

※ Multiple applications will result in disqualification. If discovered after selection, admission will be cancelled.

General Track applicants: Up to 3 universities, including at least 1 from Type B universities.

R-GKS Track applicants: Up to 2 universities, both of which must be Type B universities.

1st Round (Embassy round):

Document Submission Deadline: September 30, 2025 (Tue) 16:00 (KST 18:00)

Document Screening Results: October 7, 2025 (Tue, expected)

Interview: October 10, 2025 (Fri, expected)

Embassy Nominee Announcement: October 13, 2025 (Mon, expected)

*Only shortlisted applicants from the document screening will be invited for interviews.

*The Embassy will directly notify successful applicants at each stage.

2nd Round (NIIED Evaluation): November 2025

3rd Round (University Evaluation): Late December 2025

Final Results (NIIED Announcement): Early January 2026

[Important Notes for 2026 GKS-U]

① Applicants who are ‘expected to graduate’ can apply for the program with a ‘certificate of expected graduation’. Such applicants must submit their ‘official graduation certificate’ (or diploma) and ‘final academic transcript’ to GKS Center, NIIED by December 31st, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your acceptance.

※ Certificate of expected graduation will be accepted only if the document indicates expected graduation date(or month)

② Applicants with ‘provisional/temporary graduation certificate’ can apply for 2025 GKS-U, but such applicants will be considered as applicants who are expected to graduate. Such applicants must submit their ‘official graduation certificate’ (or diploma) and ‘final academic transcript’ to GKS Center, NIIED by December 31st, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of your acceptance.
