The Graduate School of Korean Studies at the Academy of Korean Studies (AKS) is now accepting applications for the 2027 special admission program. We encourage individuals with an interest in Korean studies to apply.  

■ Programs Offered:

Master’s and Doctoral Degree Programs  

■ Fields of Study:

13 majors in humanities and social science majors related to Korea  

■ Eligibility:

- Nationality: Foreigners or overseas koreans  

- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree holders  

- Language Proficiency:  

  1. Applicants for Korean Cultural Studies:

     - TOEFL iBT 80 or 4.5 / IELTS Academic 6.5 / TEPS 301 or higher  

  2. Applicants for all other majors:

     - TOPIK level 4 or higher

■ Online Application Periods:

- 2027 Spring Special Admission (Admission on March 1, 2027):  

 August 31 (Mon), 2026 – September 18 (Fri), 2026

- 2027 Fall Special Admission (Admission on September 1, 2027):  

 March 8 (Mon), 2027 – March 19 (Fri), 2027

■ Scholarship Benefits for International and Overseas Korean Students:  

- Full tuition fee during the entire period of study  

- A government-funded scholarship (KRW 800,000 per month) will be awarded to 15 new students for one year.
