The Consulate General in Hong Kong hosted the '2024 Korea-Macau Friendship Night' event at the Macau Tower on December 16th (Monday).
Approximately 100 distinguished guests attended the event, including government officials such as Lo Chi Kin, Vice-Chairmen of Administration Committee on Municipal Affairs of the Municipal Affairs Bureau, members of the diplomatic corps in Macau, representatives from the business and academic sectors, as well as overseas Koreans.
In his commemorative address, Consul General Yoo Hyung-cheol commended the vigorous cultural exchanges and mutual visits between Korea and Macau that have flourished since the end of pandemic. He extended congratulations on the inauguration of Macau's new administration and proposed collaborative efforts to advance bilateral relations, particularly in the realm of economic cooperation.
Consul General Yoo further emphasized that all matters concerning recent concerns regarding the situation in Korea are being managed in accordance with the rule of law and democratic procedures. He assured that public safety and order are being upheld, and encouraged the citizens of Macau to visit Korea to experience its winter allure, including snow scenery and skiing, as tourism and economic activities continue unimpeded.
In his congratulatory remarks, Vice-Chairman Lo Chi Kin expressed Macau's aspiration to further deepen exchanges and cooperation with Korea and to enhance bilateral relations.
The event featured K-POP performances and Taekwondo demonstrations to showcase Korean culture, alongside K-Food booths offering Korean beef, chicken, and gimbap, which attracted significant interest and engagement from attendees.
