Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun will pay a bilateral visit to India from August 15 to 17.

During the visit, Foreign Minister Cho will attend a number of key engagements, including a meeting with Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India.

With this year marking the tenth anniversary of the Korea-India Special Strategic Partnership, the two sides will discuss ways to boost exchanges and cooperation with a view to deepening bilateral ties.

Second Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Kim Jina, together with Parliamentary Under-Secretary for the Indo-Pacific at the United Kingdom Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Catherine West, will hold the second Korea-UK Senior Economic Dialogue at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on August 18.

During the meeting, the two sides will review the progress in the implementation of the follow-up on top- and other high-level meetings.

In addition, the two vice ministers will discuss ways for bilateral cooperation on trade issues concerning Korean businesses as well as in such areas as economic security, the defense industry, and cutting-edge science and technology, and explore how to work together on global stages including the G20 and the G7.
