Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyun and Joseph Yun, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim at the United States Mission in the Republic of Korea, will visit HD Hyundai’s Ulsan shipyard on the morning of August 13, along with members of the National Assembly’s Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee.

While touring the shipbuilding site and major facilities of the shipyard, and listening firsthand to the voices of companies on site, they will explore opportunities to expand ROK-U.S. cooperation in the shipbuilding sector and discuss ways to support shipbuilding industry.

Minister Cho will then visit Gyeongju, the host city of the 2025 APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, on the afternoon of August 13.

This visit is aimed at reviewing preparations for the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting, now about three months away. He will visit key facilities, including the venue for the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM) and the media center currently under construction at the Gyeongju Hwabaek International Convention Center (HICO), as well as potential accommodation facilities for government and business delegations.
