Good afternoon. Let me start today’s briefing.

Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Choi Jong-moon will deliver congratulatory remarks at the 8^th ASEAN Connectivity Forum to take place on January 19 in a hybrid online and offline format.

At the upcoming Forum, which will cover “ASEAN-Korea Partnership for enhancing ASEAN connectivity in the post COVID19 era,” Vice Minister Choi will underscore the significance of connectivity for smooth people-to-people and material exchanges amid the COVID-19 situation.

In addition, the Vice Minister will convey the Korean government’s commitment to continuing cooperation with ASEAN toward “a people-centered community of peace and prosperity.”

The Forum, which is the eighth one this year, will also be joined by groups of Korean business people such as the International Contractors Association of Korea, and relevant government agencies of each ASEAN member state.
